Beatrice Distribution is the distribution and sales subsidiary of Beatrice Companies, Inc., which handles the sales, distribution and marketing of Beatrice products for the institutional markets for our large quantity sized products. Beatrice Distribution also markets brands that we do not directly own, but offer as a convenience to help broaden out product offerings. We offer the full line of ConAgra Food Service and Retail products, from shelf stable oils, tomato products, frozen foods, flour and grains. Beatrice also offers 3M Cleaning and Protection Products to our lineup, featuring their entire line of cleaning supplies for healthcare, restaurants, convenience stores, industrial, and long-term health care facilities.

Description

History

Founded in 1902 as Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. 3M is known for its innovation in magnetic video tape, magnetic tape recorders, adhesives, Post-it Notes, cellophane tape, to name a few.

Lofthouse of Fleetwood Ltd.

Description

Fishermen’s Friend are well known strong menthol lozenges that are produced in Fleetwood, England.

History

Founded in 1865 by Fleetwood, England pharmacist James Lofthouse. Mr. Lofthouse develops a menthol and eucalyptus liquid for fisherman in Fleetwood to take with them on stormy and freezing trips into the North Atlantic. It delivers instant relief from problems caused by the prolonged exposure to hostile conditions. Due to the difficulty of taking the liquid in glass bottles onto choppy seas, James makes a lozenge from the liquid that the fishermen can take instead.

History

Founded in 1927, PEZ candy was invented as a breath mint in Vienna, Austria, by Eduard Haas III. The name PEZ was derived from the German word for peppermint…PfeffErminZ.

History

Founded in 1947 as International Latex Corporation. Playtex was a division created to manufacture and market latex products.

In 1975, Esmark, Inc. acquired Playtex, and in 1984, Beatrice Companies, Inc. acquired Esmark, Inc., which combined Esmark’s Max Factor cosmetics, Danskin and Pannaco businesses with the Playtex business. 1986, Beatrice forms Esmark Apparel, Inc., and moves Danskin and Pennaco Hosiery Company into new company. In April 1986, former Esmark, Inc. executives and KKR form BCI Holdings and acquire Beatrice. In August 1986, Playtex executives formed Playtex Holdings, Inc., and purchased International Playtex from BCI Holdings. Playtex sells its Almay, Max Factor, and Halston cosmetics businesses to Revlon Group. 1991, Sara Lee acquires 25% of Playtex Family products (Jhirmack hair care products, Playtex gloves, tampons, disposable nursing bottles). Playtex Apparel Partnership L.P. becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Sara Lee. 192, Playtex Family Products acquires 22% ownership of Banana Boat Holding Corp., manufacturer of Banana Boat suntan lotion products. 2006, Playtex Products LLC acquires Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen. Later in 2006, Playtex Products acquired by Energizer Holdings. 2007, Hanes Brands acquires Playtex Apparel.
